Regents Park is one of the
eight Royal Parks in London. The park is the biggest sporting area in Central
London and offers a good load of recreational activities to its visitors. The
park spreads across 400 acres and was designed by the famous architect John
Nash.
History of the park
The history of the Regent
Park dates back to almost the 16th century where it was used as a
hunting ground and was later turned in a farmland. In the 18th century John
Nash took the project of converting the barren land into a beautiful playground
of fauna and flora. The project was initiated by Prince Regent and therefore
the park that was called as Marylebone Park thus far was changed into Regent
Park.
Getting to the park
The park in located in the
Stone Yard area in the Inner Circle in Central London. The park can be easily
accessed by public and private modes of transport from any part of London. The
closest tube station to the park is the Regent Park station. A number of buses
such as routes 74, 82, 139 and 274 take you from the outskirts of London to the
park. Alternatively taxis and minicabs are an easier option to travel directly
to the park from anywhere in London.

restaurants that serve snacks and drinks. The restrooms in the park are
hygienic and also offer access to the disabled. The park is a great place for
informal sports and has all safety measures for young children.
